Behind the Cart: How Friday Coffee Co. Got Started in DFW
Friday Coffee Co. isn't your typical coffee vendor. Here's the story behind the cart — why we started, what drives us, and what makes us different in a city full of options.
Friday Coffee Co.

Most businesses start with a problem. Ours started with a feeling.
The feeling of walking into a good coffee shop on a Friday morning — unhurried, intentional, the kind of place where someone actually cares how your drink turns out. That feeling doesn't show up at most events. Not at corporate all-hands meetings. Not at wedding receptions. Not at brand activations where the coffee is an afterthought sitting next to the bottled water.
We thought it should. So we built a cart and brought it to people.
Why "Friday"
The name isn't random. Friday is the day the week exhales. It's when the pressure drops and people actually talk to each other. It's when the best conversations happen, when celebration feels earned, and when a really good cup of coffee hits different.
That's the energy we try to bring to every event — regardless of what day it actually falls on.
The People Behind It
Friday Coffee Co. is a family operation based in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. We're not a franchise. We're not a national vendor with a regional rep you'll never meet. When you book with us, you're working directly with the people who show up.
Our barista Aya is the heart of what we do on event day. She trained to work at the level of a specialty café, and she brings that same standard to every corporate lunch, wedding reception, and brand activation we take on. She's fast when the line is long, intentional when the moment calls for it, and genuinely good at making people feel like their order matters.
That's not something you train in a weekend. It's something you build over time, one event at a time.
What We've Learned Doing This in DFW
DFW is a specific place. It's big and spread out and proud of itself in the best way. The people here have high standards and they can tell when something is done well versus when it's just good enough.
We've served events in Dallas high-rises and Fort Worth ranch venues. Corporate offices in Plano and Frisco. Wedding receptions in Southlake and McKinney. Brand activations with hundreds of people moving through. Intimate team offsites with twenty people who all have strong opinions about their coffee order.
Every one of those events taught us something. How to set up faster. How to read a crowd before the first drink is ordered. How to make a 200-person rush feel smooth instead of chaotic. How to make a bride's guests feel like the coffee cart was always supposed to be there.
We're still learning. But we know DFW, and DFW has been good to us.
Why We're Building This
There's a version of this business that stays small and comfortable — a few bookings a month, a nice side income, a fun thing we do on weekends.
That's not what we're building.
We want Friday Coffee Co. to be the name that DFW event planners, wedding coordinators, and corporate teams reach for first. Not because we marketed our way there, but because we showed up and did the work until the reputation built itself.
Every event we take on is part of that. Every great drink Aya makes. Every client who books again. Every planner who recommends us to the next couple on their roster.
We're in this for the long game — and we're just getting started.
What's Next for Friday Coffee Co.
We're growing our calendar and expanding what we offer. Bottled latte bundles for Ramadan and gifting season. More brand activation partnerships with DFW companies. A deeper presence in the wedding market as spring season picks up.
If you've been thinking about booking us for an event — corporate, wedding, or anything in between — now is a great time to reach out. Dates fill faster than people expect, especially in spring and fall.
Head to fridaycoffee.co and tell us about your event. We'll take it from there.
Friday is coming. Make sure there's good coffee.
